We agree! There are many ways to celebrate and honor our Mother Earth. It’s time to take action to protect our ecosystem which has an effect on each and every one of us. Remember that giving back is really just protecting and giving to oneself and of oneself. Earth Day can mean many different things to many different people and there are many ways to celebrate and to give back.
Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee, issued a proclamation that April 2017 would be known as Earth Month to “unite those working in the interest of the planet, inspire participation, and build intergenerational action through local activism and global environmental consciousness.”
Why not make everyday Earth Day? Let’s all make small changes that can have a large impact on our environment. Do simple things like making sure you turn off all the lights & unplug appliances when not in use. You can repair those old socks and continue to wear them or you can repurpose them into rags or even how about making them into a puppet for the kids. Be sure to recycle, reuse and repair! Sock puppets!!
Make different choices. How about choosing water saving appliances, non-toxic materials, products made from sustainably harvested materials, and or having recycled content. Older toilets use up to 6 gallons per flush! Now you can get a low flow, dual flush toilet that uses only 1.28 gallons per flush and save! Not only does this save water, but will save money too. Make the greener choice for you as well as that or our environment. Water saving toilets!
Prevent indoor air pollution and reduce toxicity by choosing zero VOC paints. Paint for the people & the planet. Designer paint!! Sometimes it’s the little things. Making different choices in our everyday lives can make a big impact as they will add up to living a greener life.
Replant and reforest. Pick up some trash. Why not make a picnic and go to the beach. Spend some time teaching your children to pick up trash. There are a lot of great options. Check out your state parks department and volunteer! Green your world and ours too. Mother Earth gives to us every second of every day! Time we give back to her!
Earth Day/MONTH…Everyday!!! How will you honor and celebrate Earth Day?
